FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need a positive skills assessment before lodging?
For points-tested skilled visas, yes. The assessing authority depends on your nominated occupation; common ones include Engineers Australia, VETASSESS, ACS, and TRA.
-
How many points do I need on a 189?
The minimum is 65, but invitation cut-offs in recent rounds have run between 75 and 95 depending on occupation. We model your score and tell you whether to proceed, restructure, or wait.
-
Can my partner be included?
Yes. Married, de facto, and same-sex partnerships are recognised. Partner skills can also contribute up to 10 points if they meet the criteria, with their own positive skills assessment and Competent English.
